Cardinals special teams coach Jeff Rodgers gets additional job title

The Arizona Cardinals did not formally announce it, but they have added a job title to special teams coordinator Jeff Rodgers, who was one of the few holdovers from the previous coaching staff.

First noted on the official team site by Arizona Republic beat writer Bob McManaman, Rodgers also carries the title of assistant head coach.

The assistant head coach becomes the second-in-command and gets the opportunity to address the entire team in addition to his duties as special teams coordinator.

Rodgers impressed coach Kliff Kingsbury when he went through the process of putting together his staff.

In previous seasons, defensive line coach Don Johnson was the senior assistant for Steve Wilks and Tom Moore was the assistant head coach for Bruce Arians.
