Cardinals sign TE Maxx Williams to 2-year contract extension

The Arizona Cardinals have been pleased with what they have seen from tight end Maxx Williams this season. They want to keep him around, too.

The team announced Saturday Williams signed a contract extension that will keep him with the team through 2021. He was set to become a free agent after the season.

Williams was signed in the offseason after the Baltimore Ravens released him.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury has been very complimentary of Williams. He has praised his hands, his blocking and has even called him one of the best tight ends in the league.

The former second-round pick has appeared in every game this season and has started five of them. He has 11 catches for 139 yards and one touchdown.

His addition was a sneaky-good signing. We will have to wait and see about the financials to see if it is contract of good value. At 24 years of age, he still should have quite a bit of football left in him.
