Cardinals sign pair of former AAF offensive linemen

The Arizona Cardinals opened their offseason program with a few signings. In addition to the return of defensive tackle Rodney Gunter, they added a pair of free agent offensive linemen who had been playing for the Alliance of American Football, the AAF.

They signed Andrew Lauderdale, who played for the Arizona Hotshots, and Jeremiah Poutasi, who was on the Salt Lake Stallions.

It is not the first stint in the NFL for either player.

Lauderdale entered the league in 2017 as an undrafted rookie with the New Orleans Saints. He spent parts of the last two seasons on the practice squads of the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills.

He is listed by the team at 6-6 and 291 pounds.

Poutasi entered the league in 2015 as a third-round pick of the Tennessee Titans and played 11 games as a rookie, starting seven. He only appeared in one game in the league after that, spending time on the practice squads of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Denver Broncos. He was out of the league in 2018.

Cardinals offensive line coach Sean Kugler knows Poutasi from his time in Denver. He is listed at 6-5, 330 pounds.
