Cardinals set to have private visit with Mississippi TE Dawson Knox

The Arizona Cardinals have changed up their tight end room this offseason, releasing Jermaine Gresham and signing Charles Clay. However, it is a position that could be and probably should be addressed in the NFL draft.

They are at least doing their homework at the position. According to Draft Wire’s Justin Melo, the Cardinals will bring in Mississippi tight end Dawson Knox for a private visit.

Knox is a former quarterback who converted to tight end. He is 6-4 and 254 pounds. He never scored a touchdown in his college career but stretched the field as a receiver his final year at Ole Miss, catching 15 passes at an average of more than 18 yards per reception. He had 24 receptions for 321 yards in 2017.

He is a hard worker but needs to develop in his route running and improve as a blocker, but his mentality and body type suggest he could stick in the league if given the opportunity.
