Cardinals, Saints have four player connections

It seems like almost every week the Arizona Cardinals face an opponent where the two teams share a number of player connections. That is not so much the case when they play the New Orleans Saints this weekend in Week 8.

Between the two teams, there are only four players on either roster who spent time with the other team, and some of the connections are small.

The Cardinals have three former Saints and the Saints only have one former Cardinal.

This is barely a connection. Zenner, who signed with the Cardinals this week, spent a week with the Saints last week. He was signed last week, played against the Chicago Bears, had one carry for one yard and one catch for six yards. Then he was cut.

S Chris Banjo

Banjo is well known among Saints fans. He was a special teams ace for them for just more than two seasons. He spent part of 2016 with the Saints and all of 2017 and 2018. He played in all 32 games the last two seasons and earned a contract extension. However, he was cut before the season began.

He had three interceptions in limited defensive playing time.

Murray was briefly with the Saints in 2017, spending time on their practice squad.

WR Ted Ginn

Ginn signed a three-year free agent contract in 2014 and only played one season for Arizona. He had a punt return for a touchdown to clinch a win but mostly was disappointing, as he caught only 14 passes all season. He has 18 already this season in seven games for the Saints.
