The Arizona Cardinals selected defensive lineman Zach Allen with the first pick of the third round of the NFL draft last month. They had a first-round grade on him, ranking him their 25th-best player in the draft.
What can Cardinals fans expect from Allen, who should be able to make an impact as a rookie?
He said it better than anyone else could.
As shown in the latest episode of Cardinals Flight Plan, when the team called him to let him know he was being drafted, he said, “I’m ready to (expletive) some people up.”
The Cardinals loved his mentality and production in college. He played multiple positions and managed to get 100 tackles as a defensive lineman in 2017. GM Steve Keim described him as “unbelievable.”
They had a double-A grade on him for character and football character.
Because of the lack of depth on the defensive line, he should get playing time as a rookie. He plays with a high motor and should endear himself to fans quickly.
