Cardinals reportedly weren’t replying to Josh Rosen trade inquiries at combine

It doesn’t sound like the Arizona Cardinals will trade quarterback Josh Rosen.

Which is unfortunate for the Washington Redskins.

As we’ve noted, the Redskins doing a deal with the Cardinals would be a major win for the franchise — especially thanks to Rosen’s contract.

But according to a new report, the Cardinals weren’t entertaining the idea at the scouting combine:

The speculation Rosen might be available stems from Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury’s connection to Kyler Murray, a prospect they might consider taking at No. 1.

Rosen, of course, was a first-round quarterback all of one offseason ago and has seemingly unlimited upside. Washington would offer him a much better situation for development, to say the least.

A potential Rosen trade would undoubtedly be costly. But the Redskins coughing up a first-round pick this year for four years of contractual control of Rosen, who could end up being the best quarterback of the past two draft classes, doesn’t seem like too steep of a price.

The speculation about Rosen isn’t going to die down between now and the draft. At the combine, though, it doesn’t sound like the Cardinals were playing ball.
