Cardinals replace Mike Disner with Matt Harriss in front office

The Arizona Cardinals announced an important hiring of a front office executive. They named Matt Harriss Director of Football Administration.

It was the position previously held by Mike Disner, who left for the same job with the Detroit Lions.

In fact, Harriss comes from the Lions, where he held that title. Essentially, Harriss replaces Disner in Arizona, who replaces Harriss in Detroit.

He was Director of Football Administration in Detroit from 2016-2018. Before that, he spent 10 years with the New York Giants, part of which he was Director of Football Operations.

He was in the league office for five years before that.

Harriss will be charged with handling contracts and the salary cap, working with general manager Steve Keim.

After the 2018 season was over, Keim said they would look at changes in their football operations. Harriss comes in as new blood to help turn a team around that has failed to make the postseason three straight years.
