Cardinals re-sign RB D.J. Foster

The Arizona Cardinals have not tendered any of the four players who are restricted free agents yet, but they did re-sign one. The team announced Friday afternoon it re-signed running back D.J. Foster to a one-year contract.

Foster was signed off the New England Patriots practice squad in 2017 and played in seven games for the Cardinals that season. He impressed in training camp and the preseason in 2018 and appeared to have a roster spot locked up but he tore his ACL and was lost for the season.

The former Arizona State Sun Devil will get another opportunity to make the roster under new head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

Foster is grateful to have another chance.

He will battle for a spot on the roster in the running back room that is expected to be led by David Johnson and Chase Edmonds.
