Cardinals re-sign OL Jeremy Vujnovich, release TE Darrell Daniels

The Arizona Cardinals made a somewhat surprising roster move on Saturday, releasing offensive lineman Jeremy Vujnovich and promoting tight end Darrell Daniels from the practice squad to the active roster.

After Daniels was inactive for the season opener, a 27-27 tie with the Detroit Lions, the team undid that decision.

On Monday, it was announced the Cardinals released Daniels and re-signed Vujnovich.

While nothing was ever reported officially, this would suggest there was perhaps some concern about the availability of either Charles Clay or Maxx Williams for the game, either for some illness on Saturday or because there was something off the field that could have kept one of them out of the game.

Vujnovich now returns as the second healthy interior lineman on the bench with Mason Cole.

Daniels, unless he gets claimed off waivers, will likely be re-signed to the practice squad.
