Cardinals re-sign CB Chris Jones to practice squad

The Arizona Cardinals released second-year cornerback Chris Jones earlier this week after they picked up Trevor Williams via waivers and linebacker Ramik Wilson. They have brought him back.

Jones cleared waivers and the Cardinals announced Friday he was added to the practice squad. To make room for him, they released cornerback Andre Chachere.

Jones made the team out of training camp and began the season as the team’s third cornerback, coming in to play in nickel packages. He was recently replaced by Kevin Peterson.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said he was pleased with how Jones played but injuries made the move necessary.

He is in his second year out of Nebraska. He spent last season on the practice squad with the Cardinals and played two games late in the season.

He appeared in five games this season. He has eight tackles and has broken up one pass.
