Cardinals RB David Johnson’s back discomfort keeps him from sitting at locker

Arizona Cardinals running back didn’t miss any time during the game but suffered a back injury in the first half of the team’s 26-23 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters about the injury after the game and praised Johnson for the play he made late in the game despite his back being sore.

That back injury apparently was quite painful.

According to ESPN’s Josh Weinfuss, Johnson was so uncomfortable after the game he was unable to sit at his locker. the back “locked up throughout the game,” Johnson said.

Johnson played 54 of the team’s 77 snaps on Sunday. He had 91 rushing yards and 65 receiving yards.

The Cardinals will not practice until Wednesday so Johnson will have the opportunity to get treatment on his back but it will be something to watch as the week progresses to see if he ends up being limited in practice.

The Cardinals have only three running backs on the roster and only two have gotten offensive snaps.

The first injury report of the week as the Cardinals get ready to play the Atlanta Falcons is on Wednesday.
