Cardinals, Rams share 4 player connections

The Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams will face off this weekend at State Farm Stadium. Both teams have a pair of players who used to play for the other. There are two former Cardinals on the Rams’ roster and two former Rams on the Cardinals’ roster.

Who are they?

WR Pharoh Cooper

Cooper was drafted by the Rams in the fourth round in 2016 and played three seasons for them. He was even a Pro Bowl and All-Pro returner in 2017. The Rams cut him in 2018 and the Cardinals claimed him off waivers.

Peterson was claimed off waivers by the Cardinals after the preseason. He spent two years with the Rams. He played six games in 2017 and had two interceptions and six pass breakups. He was on injured reserve all of 2018.

Marqui Christian

Christian was drafted in the fifth round by the Cardinals in 2016. He was cut early in the season and hoped to get him onto the practice squad but the Rams claimed him.

Coleman Shelton

Shelton spent time on the Cardinals’ practice squad last year. He spent the offseason and preseason in Arizona as well before getting released with final roster cutdowns. He has appeared in six games this season for the Rams after signing with them.
