Cardinals promote QB Drew Anderson to roster with Kyler Murray’s uncertain availability

The Arizona Cardinals made an expected roster move on Saturday to address quarterback Kyler Murray’s hamstring injury. They promoted rookie quarterback Drew Anderson to the 53-man roster, as he might be the backup quarterback in the season finale against the Los Angeles Rams.

To make room for Anderson, the Cardinals placed tight end Darrell Daniels on injured reserve with a biceps injury. He was already ruled out for the game.

Murray is officially questionable for the game. Brett Hundley got more practice reps during the week and is ready to start.

If Hundley starts, the question would then be whether Murray will be inactive or not. They could make Anderson inactive and keep Murray as the backup, make Murray inactive or have both Murray and Anderson active for the game.

Inactive lists will be released 90 minutes before kickoff on Sunday.

The Rams and Cardinals kick off at 2:25 p.m. Arizona time.
