Cardinals projected to have 24th pick in 2022 draft

The Arizona Cardinals, for much of the season, had the best record in the NFL. As such, when looking ahead to the 2022 NFL draft, they would have the last pick in the first round. And with the success they were having, there wasn’t really a need or room to talk about next year’s draft.

However, with two games remaining in the regular-season schedule and with the Cardinals fading a bit, perhaps now is the time to look ahead to the draft a little bit.

Based on their 10-5 record right now, the Cardinals would have the 24th pick of the draft, according to Draft Wire.

Of course, ultimately as a playoff team, how they do in the postseason will ultimately determine what pick they have.

Who have been the last few players selected No. 24 overall?

  • 2021: RB Najee Harris (Steelers)
  • 2020: C Cesar Ruiz (Saints)
  • 2019: RB Josh Jacobs (Raiders)
  • 2018: WR D.J. Moore (Panthers
  • 2017: CB Gareon Conley (Raiders)
  • 2016: CB William Jackson III (Bengals)
  • 2015: LT D.J. Humphries (Cardinals)
  • 2014: CB Darqueze Dennard (Bengals)
  • 2013: DE Bjoern Werner (Colts)
  • 2012: G David DeCastro (Steelers)

Most of this list includes pretty impactful players. If the Cardinals end up with the 24th pick, it means they will have lost in the wild card round. That isn’t going to be ideal.
