Cardinals place Robert Alford on IR, announce Cassius Marsh, add 7 to practice squad

The Arizona Cardinals appear to have wrapped up their roster moves for Sunday. They announced the reported signing of linebacker Cassius Marsh and made the move to place cornerback Robert Alford on injured reserve.

Alford suffered a leg fracture in practice during training camp. By waiting until now to place him on IR, he is eligible to be one of two players the Cardinals can have return. He must miss at least eight weeks.

Marsh was a 2014 fourth-round pick of the Seahawks and played with them for three seasons. He spent time with the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers in 2017 and played all 16 games last season for the Niners, starting three games and recording a career-high 5.5 sacks.

The Cardinals also announced they brought back seven players they cut on Saturday.

These are the players:

  • QB Drew Anderson
  • LB Dante Booker
  • CB Nate Brooks
  • TE Darrell Daniels
  • OLB Vontarrius Dora
  • WR A.J. Richardson
  • TE Caleb Wilson

Quarterback Kyle Sloter, who spent this preseason with the Minnesota Vikings, also announced he was joining the practice squad.
