When the Arizona Cardinals took on the Baltimore Ravens a week ago, the two teams featured many player connections. This week, against the Carolina Panthers, there are player connections but only three. Only three players combined on the two rosters spent time with the other team.
Who are they? Two are on the Cardinals while only one is on the Panthers.
S Tre Boston
Boston is a return Panther. He began his career with Carolina. He was with the Cardinals last year, signing at the start of training camp and then started 13 games. He finished the season with 79 tackles, three interceptions, nine pass breakups and a forced fumble. He came back to the Panthers this past offseason.
WR Damiere Byrd
Byrd joined the Cardinals this offseason after four seasons with the Panthers. He signed with them as an undrafted rookie in 2015, spent the 2015 season on the practice squad and then three years on the roster.
He appeared in 17 games, had 12 catches and also returned kicks and punts at times. He averaged more than 29 yards per kick return and had a 103-yard TD return.
He has 10 catches through two games this season for the Cardinals.
P Andy Lee
Lee, now in his third season with the Cardinals, spent one season with the Panthers in 2016. He played in only nine games because he got hurt. He averaged more than 49 yards per punt that season.
