Cardinals open week as huge underdogs vs. Ravens

The Arizona Cardinals were 2.5-point underdogs in their season opener against the Detroit Lions. As a result, in terms of the spread, they are 1-0 despite their game in Week 1 finishing in a tie.

They are huge underdogs entering Week 2. They will travel on the road to play the Baltimore Ravens in a 10 a.m. PT game. According to BetMGM, Baltimore is favored early by 13.5 points.

They are coming off a 59-10 victory on the road over the Miami Dolphins.

The Cardinals have traditionally struggled in East Coast games in the early time slot and have a rookie head coach and quarterback. The Ravens have the league’s top offense and top defense after one week.

Fans should obviously want the Cardinals to win, but when you see a point spread like this, it does help temper expectations for the team. Perhaps what the more realistic hope should be is that the Cardinals can play a close game, giving themselves a chance to win.
