Marcus Gilbert says Cardinals offense is ‘offensive line-friendly’

While what the new Arizona Cardinals offense will look exactly under head coach Kliff Kingsbury is still a bit of a mystery, there are little clues. The big question is how the offensive line will play.

If comments from players along the offensive line are true, the offense will help them.

New right tackle Marcus Gilbert likes what he has seen so far and says his offensive lineman teammates do as well.

“We’ve been loving it as an offensive line,” he said after practice on Monday. “This offense is offensive line-friendly just because you don’t know what’s going to happen with the ball.”

He said the offense “is all about timing” and “no matter what the down and distance is, (Kingsbury) is going to get the ball out.”

While Kingsbury said they wouldn’t go fast all the time, Gilbert suggests that will be the way things normally go.

Because there are questions about the offensive line, having an offense that is friendly for them is a good thing. Hopefully, that ends up being the case.
