Cardinals now have full starting defense after return of DL Rodney Gunter

The Arizona Cardinals re-signed free agent defensive lineman Rodney Gunter on Monday. In doing so, the projected starting lineup for the Cardinals defense is complete.

Here is what the starting lineup would look like as of today:

Defensive line

Darius Philon, DE

Corey Peters, NT

Rodney Gunter, DE

Linebackers

Terrell Suggs, OLB

Haason Reddick, ILB

Jordan Hicks, ILB

Chandler Jones, OLB

Cornerbacks

Patrick Peterson

Robert Alford

Tramaine Brock (nickel back)

Safeties

D.J. Swearinger

Budda Baker

On the defensive line, Robert Nkemdiche will be the in mix once he recovers fully from his torn ACL. The third cornerback could certainly change, but Brock is likely the guy for now, even though it might be Alford who actually slides over into the slot.

With the starting positions filled, the Cardinals are not forced to make any specific picks in the NFL draft, allowing them to follow their board and pick the most talented players available with their selections.
