Cardinals met with TCU DL L.J. Collier

The Arizona Cardinals continue to do pre-NFL draft preparation, even in the middle of free agency. They have some visits with draft prospects and some have already happened.

They have had a private workout with TCU edge defender L.J. Collier, according to Draft Wire’s Justin Melo.

Collier had six sacks, 11.5 tackles for loss and 42 total tackles for the Horned Frogs in 2018.

He is listed as an edge defender by many but measured 6-2 and 283 pounds at the NFL combine. For the Cardinals in a 3-4 defense, that is a little short and a little heavy to play on the edge. However, that frame would be about right to play on the defensive line as a 3-4 DE.

He has solid straight-line speed with a 4.78-second 40 but has athletic limitations in terms of quickness. He benched 225 pounds 25 times and had a 30-inch vertical leap.

He was only a one-year starter. He is expected to be a Day 3 draft pick in April and could be an interesting addition to the defensive line if the Cardinals target him.
