Cardinals list 3 players out, 9 as questionable vs. Giants

The New York Giants will be without wide receiver Sterling Shepard (concussion) in Week 7, but that is small potatoes compared to the overwhelming injury report released by the Arizona Cardinals on Friday evening.

The Cardinals ruled three players out against the Giants and listed a staggering nine as questionable heading into the weekend.

Defensive end Zach Allen (neck), offensive lineman Brett Toth (illness) and running back D.J. Foster (hamstring) will not play and the following nine will be game-time decisions:

  • RB David Johnson (ankle)
  • DT Zach Kerr (ankle)
  • LB Ezekiel Turner (hamstring)
  • TE Max Williams (ankle)
  • LB Dennis Gardeck (ankle)
  • WR Christian Kirk (ankle)
  • P Andy Lee (hip)
  • S Charles Washington (shoulder)
  • OL Joshua Miles (illness)

Zach Allen will likely be replaced by backup Jonathan Bullard, while Joshua Miles, who is questionable, is now the sole backup at tackle. And with D.J. Foster out, Chase Edmonds would receive the full bulk of the offensive load in the event David Johnson is also unable to play.

Don’t be surprised to see the Cardinals make a transaction on Saturday to prepare for Andy Lee to sit out. Currently, the team has no backup punter nor do they have a full-time holder outside of Lee.
