Cardinals interested in AAF’s sack leader Jayrone Elliott

With the Alliance of American Football having shut down without finishing its seasons, the league’s players now are officially free agents. Some have signed contracts with NFL teams.

The Arizona Cardinals have reported interest in one of them.

According to NFL Draft Diamonds’ Damond Talbot, the Cardinals are one of four teams interested in Jayrone Elliott, who led the AAF with 7.5 sacks playing for the San Antonio Commanders before the league shut down operations.

The Oakland Raiders, Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens also are interested.

Elliott had a stint in the NFL after he was undrafted in 2014. He played in four games over three seasons for the Green Bay Packer between 2014-2016 and had four tackles. He also spent a couple of weeks on the Dallas Cowboys roster in 2017 and was with the New Orleans Saints last offseason before getting cut.

Elliott is 27 years old and is 6-3 and 255 pounds.
