Cardinals injury report: David Johnson practices fully; 6 players sit out

The Arizona Cardinals have begun their week of practice preparing for their Week 3 contest at home against the Carolina Panthers. They began the week a bit banged up, based on the initial injury report of the week on Wednesday.

In all, six players sat out of practice, but there is good news. Running back David Johnson, who missed time during the game on Sunday with a wrist injury, appears to be fine.

Johnson was a full participant on Wednesday. Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters on Monday that Johnson was “good to go.” It appears that is indeed the case.

Here is the full injury report for the Cardinals:

Did not practice

  • WR Larry Fitzgerald (day off)
  • DL Jonathan Bullard (hamstring)
  • OL Lamont Gaillard (knee)
  • LB Jordan Hicks (groin)
  • DL Corey Peters (knee)
  • LB Zeke Turner (hand, hamstring)

Gaillard and Bullard were unable to play on Sunday and Gaillard has not been active yet this season. Hicks’ injury is new. Peters left the game on Sunday to have his knee looked at. While it is early, it would appear he will probably be ready to play this weekend.

Turner has been dealing with a hand injury but it has not kept him from playing. The hamstring might change things.

Limited:

  • TE Charles Clay (partial day off)

Charles got a veteran day off last week and his workload will be managed during the week.

The injuries to watch as the week progresses are Hicks and Peters.
