Cardinals injury report: David Johnson misses practice 2nd straight day

The Arizona Cardinals returned to practice on Thursday and released their second injury report of the week. For the second day in a row, they were with running back David Johnson, who sat once again because of an ankle injury.

He played only three snaps in Sunday’s 27-21 win over the New York Giants and now has missed two practices as the team prepares for the New Orleans Saints.

He wasn’t the only Cardinals player to miss practice. Here are those were did not practice:

Did not practice

  • DL Zach Allen (neck)
  • RB D.J. Foster (hamstring)
  • RB David Johnson (ankle)
  • LB Jordan Hicks (calf)

Hicks’ injury could be a concern as well, considering the lack of experienced depth at linebacker. He sat out for the second day in a row. Allen has missed the last few weeks and Foster has missed since Thursday of last week, when he suffered the injury.

Four players were limited:

  • LB Dennis Gardeck (ankle)
  • WR Christian Kirk (ankle)
  • LB Haason Reddick (knee)
  • LB Zeke Turner (hamstring)

Kirk continues to try and return from his ankle injury. Kliff Kingsbury was unsure on Wednesday whether Kirk would be able to play this weekend. Reddick’s injury adds more concern to the linebacking corps.

The final injury report will come out on Friday.
