Cardinals injury report: 9 do not practice, 5 limited on Wednesday

The Arizona Cardinals began their week of practice on Wednesday preparing for the Cincinnati Bengals. They did so with a lengthy injury report.

In all, nine players sat out of practice and five were limited.

Three were not because of injuries. Receiver Larry Fitzgerald and defensive lineman Corey Peters sat out with a day off. Tight end Charles Clay was limited, getting part of the day off.

The rest, though, are dealing with injuries.

Here is that list:

Did not practice

  • DL Zach Allen (neck)
  • WR Damiere Byrd (hamstring)
  • LB Dennis Gardeck (ankle)
  • WR Christian Kirk (ankle)
  • P Andy Lee (hip)
  • OL Justin Pugh (shoulder)
  • S Charles Washington (shoulder)

Limited

  • S Budda Baker (thigh)
  • CB Tramaine Brock (back)
  • OL Jordan Mills (knee)
  • LB Zeke Turner (hand, hamstring)

Rookie offensive lineman Lamont Gaillard (knee) was a full participant.

Byrd and Kirk are not expected to play this week. Pugh dealt with a shoulder injury during the preseason. Hopefully, this is more of a preventative action than dealing with an actual injury again.

Allen’s injury was originally listed as a shoulder but now is classified with a neck. He left the game on Sunday with a stinger. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury does not know yet whether he will be able to play on Sunday.
