Cardinals inactives: Justin Murray, Deionte Thompson, Chase Edmonds out vs. Bucs

The Arizona Cardinals released their list of inactive players for their Week 10 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Because of injuries, there will be some changes to the starting lineup and playing rotation.

Here are the inactives:

  • WR Damiere Byrd
  • CB Tramaine Brock
  • RB Chase Edmonds
  • S Deionte Thompson
  • OL Lamont Gaillard
  • OL Justin Murray
  • DL Zach Allen

Murray’s absence means the Cardinals will have the same starting lineup they did against the San Francisco 49ers last week. Justin Pugh will move over from left guard to right tackle and Mason Cole will start at left guard. Now, with the return of Max Garcia from PUP, he will be the lineman off the bench, giving the Cardinals a veteran instead of a rookie Gaillard if anything happens.

Byrd is a healthy scratch for the second week in a row.

With Brock and Thompson out, it means changes in the secondary. Brock has been the team’s slot corner. With him out, Byron Murphy likely will slide inside when they need three cornerbacks, while Kevin Peterson will come in off the bench as the third corner. Deionte and Jalen Thompson had been splitting snaps. Jalen played in base defense with Deionte playing in nickel. Jalen will now likely play all the defensive snaps against Tampa.
