Cardinals host Miami DL Gerald Willis

The NFL draft is just a bit more than a week away but the Arizona Cardinals are not done with their official visits from potential draft picks. The latest was reportedly Miami defensive lineman Gerald Willis.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Willis visited the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Willis is a mid-to-late-round prospect.

He is 6-2 and 302 pounds.

He is an interesting prospect. He started at the University of Florida but was kicked off the team. He transferred to Miami in 2016 and played a reserve, picking up 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He practiced with the team in 2017 but did not play while he was working through some personal issues. His one season playing for the Hurricanes in 2018, he had 59 tackles, four sacks and 18 tackles for loss.

His play was inconsistent, making big plays and looking bad on others.

The Cardinals believe this draft is deep at the defensive line and will most certainly address the position, as that is one area where they have no healthy, proven depth.
