Cardinals hopeful Justin Pugh can play in 3rd preseason game

The Arizona Cardinals could get back a starting offensive lineman this week as they prepare for their third preseason game. They could get back left guard Justin Pugh, who has not yet played in the preseason.

He suffered a shoulder injury on the second weekend in camp and was expected to miss a couple of weeks.

“We hope he’ll be back,” said head coach Kliff Kingsbury over the weekend. “I’m not sure 100 percent but I think by Tuesday we’ll have a pretty good feel on that.”

If Pugh is not able to go, his likely first game action will not be until the season opener in September. Teams typically do not have starters play in the preseason finale.

The Cardinals have wrapped up training camp and are back at the team headquarters in Tempe for practice this week.
