Cardinals have private workout with Kansas DL Daniel Wise

The Arizona Cardinals not only are preparing for the players they will select early in the draft, they are also researching and evaluating players they might take with one of their five picks in the sixth and seventh rounds of the draft, or those they might want to sign as priority free agents.

One such player in whom they have at least some interest is Kansas defensive lineman Daniel Wise.

According to sister site Draft Wire’s Justin Melo, the Cardinals held a private workout with him.

Wise is a 6-3, 281-pound interior defender projected to be drafted late Day 3 or to be an undrafted free agent.

Arizona has two sixth-round picks and three late seventh-round selections.

Wise had 34 total tackles (12 for loss) and five sacks in 2018, but his best season was when he was a junior in 2017. He had 53 tackles, 16 of which were for a loss, five sacks and two forced fumbles.

He comes from an NFL family. His brother is New England Patriots defensive lineman Dietrich Wise and his father was drafted into the league in 1988.
