Cardinals ‘have not come to any sort of decision’ about Kyler Murray

Will the Arizona Cardinals use the No. 1 overall pick on Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray? Have they already made that decision, as some have claimed is the case?

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, drafting Murray is certainly a possibility, but it isn’t certain.

“It’s clear they have not decided whether or not they’re going to pick Kyler Murray,” he said on Up to the Minute Live, noting they are still in the middle of their draft meetings. “They certainly have not come to any sort of decision.”

It does appear, though, coach Kliff Kingsbury is the one championing the pick.

“We do know Kliff Kingsbury loves Kyler Murray,” Rapoport continued. “He’s been very outspoken about saying that, but of course, he’s not making the pick. General manager Steve Keim is.”

It is perhaps the biggest factor in all of this. Keim already picked a quarterback a year ago he was willing to hitch his fortune to. Will he change after only one year and after giving up valuable draft capital to get him?

That is the question, and the way things are going, no one might know exactly until they actually call Murray’s name at the draft or they trade Josh Rosen.
