Cardinals have not addressed defensive line at all in offseason

The Arizona Cardinals have addressed almost every single critical need on the roster since the offseason began. That is, they have addressed every major need except for one.

They have not made a single move on the defensive line in the offseason and it is one of the biggest holes they have.

Most bring up the offensive line, receivers, linebackers and a second cornerback as the Cardinals’ critical needs, but all of those have been addressed.

Very few have mentioned the defensive line and it is an area that needs bodies.

Moving back to a 3-4 defense means the Cardinals need five or six players to rotate on the defensive interior. As of right now, they only have three healthy defensive tackles. They have Corey Peters, who will be 31 this year, Pasoni Tasini and Vincent Valentine. Their fourth defensive tackle, Robert Nkemdiche, tore his ACL late last season and will not be ready to start the season.

Peters is solid. Tasini and Valentine were back-of-the-roster additions late in the season on a 3-13 team. One would think it is an area they wish to address in the offseason.

However, they have not done a single thing. Re-signing Rodney Gunter would be a start. Perhaps bringing in veteran Domata Peko.

But the Cardinals have been strangely silent on the defensive line when they don’t even have the requisite bodies to fill the roster at the position.
