Cardinals have lengthy dinner with Florida State pass rusher Brian Burns

The Arizona Cardinals could take a pass rusher like Nick Bosa or Josh Allen with the first overall pick in the 2019 draft. They could trade back in the draft and potentially look at other prospects in what is considered a very good edge draft class. Perhaps they could surprise everyone and select another pass rusher other than Bosa or Allen first overall.

Whatever scenario it might be, the Cardinals have at least some interest in Florida State’s Brian Burns.

According to the Draft Network’s Jon Ledyard, they had a three-hour dinner with Burns recently.

In three seasons with the Seminoles, he had 23 sacks and 38.5 tackles for loss. He had 10 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss in 2018.

Burns is 6-5, 249 pounds and very athletic. He lit up the NFL combine with a 4.53-second 40, a 36-inch vertical, a broad jump of 10-9 and a three-cone of 7.01 seconds.

Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury has said the Cardinals are looking at every possible scenario with the first pick. Could Burns be in the mix? If not at the top of the draft, he could be if they end up trading out of the top pick.
