CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones reported earlier on Sunday that Flores was set to interview with the Cardinals early in the week in an in-person interview.

Flores is currently a senior defensive assistant and linebackers coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was head coach of the Miami Dolphins from 2019-2021.

He worked for the New England Patriots from 2004-2018. From 2004-2007, he worked in the scouring department. New Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort was in the Patriots’ scouting department from 2006-2019.

Flores is one of eight known candidates the Cardinals are considering to be their new head coach.

The others are former Colts head coach Frank Reich, former Saints head coach Sean Payton, 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans, Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, Broncos defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero and Arizona defensive coordinator Vance Joseph.

Reich, Quinn, Glenn and Joseph have all reportedly had their interviews.
