Cardinals GM Steve Keim admits to having fun with 1st pick in the draft

The Arizona Cardinals have the first pick in the 2019 NFL draft, something that resulted from an absolutely awful 2018 season but allows them the opportunity to select who they believe is the best player coming out of college.

They have been the subject of many rumors with that pick. Many believe they will take Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray first overall, even though they used the 10th pick in the draft a year ago to select Josh Rosen. Some believe the Cardinals want to trade the pick.

With as many rumors as there are, it almost appears as if it is purposeful.

It might be. General manager Steve Keim revealed how much he is enjoying where the Cardinals are in the draft in the third episode of Cardinals Flight Plan.

“We are embracing that right now and we think there is a lot of value in that pick,” he said. “We’re actually having a lot of fun with all the excitement. It’s great for the organization, it’s great for the National Football League.”

Are they having fun in planting rumors and misinformation? It wouldn’t be unheard of. If so, it benefits everyone because it gives us all topics to discuss while we all wait for the actual draft.
