Cardinals getting trade phone calls for No. 1 pick leading up to draft

As if the Arizona Cardinals have not made things complicated enough with the first overall pick in the 2019 draft with rumors that they either will or will not select Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray first overall, now it is possible they trade the pick. While no movement is happening yet, the phones are ringing, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport reported Monday the Cardinals are getting calls about the No. 1 pick.

“My understanding is general manager Steve Keim has in fact received trade feelers from teams potentially trying to come up to No. 1 or at least seeing what would the price be if someone did decide to trade and swap picks with the Arizona Cardinals,” he said on NFL Up to the Minute.

It will be difficult to get the Cardinals to move out of the top pick, though. Rapoport reiterated something that Keim mentioned in his predraft press conference, saying the Cardinals “would have to be blown away” with an offer.
