Cardinals final injury report: Chase Edmonds, Tramaine Brock ruled out

The Arizona Cardinals released their final injury report of the week and have ruled out four players. Two come as no surprise but the other two will affect the defense some.

Ruled out

  • DL Zach Allen (neck)
  • RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring)
  • CB Tramaine Brock (hamstring)
  • LB Brooks Reed (hamstring)

Allen is maybe a week away from returning. Edmonds will miss his second straight game. The Cardinals announced after final injury reports that Reed was placed on injured reserve. He had a setback with his hamstring after practicing fully on Thursday. Pete Robertson, elevated from the practice squad, will likely get his small number of snaps. Brock being ruled out will affect the secondary. It likely means Byron Murphy will start outside and then cover the slot in nickel downs with Kevin Peterson coming in as the fifth defensive back.

Three players are officially questionable for the game.

Questionable

  • OL Justin Murray (knee)
  • S Deionte Thompson (knee)
  • OLB Terrell Suggs (hamstring)

Suggs did not practice Friday and had a regular day off. However, the hamstring did keep him out of practice Wednesday. Murray will be a Sunday decision, although it seems likely that Justin Pugh will play right tackle again on Sunday.

Thompson’s injury is new. He was a new addition to the injury report. He was limited on Friday. If he is unable to go on Sunday, Jalen Thompson, who splits snaps with Deionte on defense, will likely play both in base and nickel sets.
