Cardinals fans really didn’t like MLB’s tweet celebrating Ozzie Albies big home run

The St. Louis Cardinals are playing for their playoff lives in today’s Game 4 of their series with the Atlanta Braves at Busch Stadium.

And while they had a lead early in the game, Atlanta’s Ozzie Albies put the Braves in front, 4-3, with his two-run home run in the fifth inning.

MLB’s official Twitter account celebrated the big blast to right-center by tweeting these four words: “The Wizard of Oz.”

That phrase, of course, struck St. Louis fans the wrong way because that’s the nickname of Cardinals great Ozzie Smith. I don’t know if whoever wrote that tweet knew about that, but I’m guessing they do now because of the replies. Or maybe they were just trying to make Cardinals fans upset. Who knows?
