Cardinals’ draft class ranked second in NFL

The NFL draft is complete and now grades and rankings are rolling in. Many believe the Arizona Cardinals did a good job with their draft class. Of course, having the first pick in every round but the seventh and having 11 total picks should lead to a good class.

Just how well did the Cardinals do?

According to sister site Draft Wire’s managing editor Luke Easterling, the Cardinals had the second-best draft class in the entire league.

They were ranked only behind the Washington Redskins.

Arizona added a franchise quarterback in Kyler Murray. They added a top cornerback in Byron Murphy. They added three receivers. They added two defensive linemen who should play in 2019. They added a safety many believed has first or second-round talent.

Having a top draft class hopefully now results in on-field improvements.

Will it be enough for them to compete for the playoffs, even with an undersized rookie quarterback? That is what remains to be seen in the months to come.

However, at least for now, it looks like the Cardinals had a good draft.
