The Arizona Cardinals have reinforcements coming on the defensive line. The team announced Wednesday Jordan Phillips has been designated to return from injured reserve, meaning he can practice with the team.
Phillips was placed on injured reserve November 19 after reaggravating a hamstring injury. He injured his hamstring in Week 7 against the Seattle Seahawks and played in Week 9 against the Miami Dolphins but had a setback. He has not played since.
If he is able to be activated from IR, then the Cardinals will almost be at full strength on the defensive line. They have had as many as five defensive linemen on IR at the same time. Josh Mauro and Corey Peters are still there. Peters’ injury ends his season.
He can be activated anytime between now and 21 days from now.
In eight games this season, he has 10 total tackles, two sacks, three quarterback hits, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
