The Arizona Cardinals played 68 defensive snaps in their 33-26 loss to the Oakland Raiders Thursday night. How was the playing time divided up and what can we learn from it?
Here is the breakdown for each position group.
Defensive line

Miles Brown, 36; Michael Dogbe, 30; Sterling Bailey, 29; Terrell McClain, 27; Pasoni Tasini, 13; Corey Peters, 12; Zach Allen, 9; Rodney Gunter, 9
McClain got playing time with the first and second team. Dogbe and Brown played a lot.
Outside linebacker

Andre Branch, 21; Vonatarrius Dora, 20; Brooks Reed, 19; Pete Robertson, 16; Jeff Holland, 16; Cameron Malveaux, 15; Chandler Jones, 13; Terrell Suggs, 13; Pita Taumoepenu, 3
We can see the starters played 13 snaps. It was the veteran Branch who played the most. Holland, a newcomer, got good work in.
Inside linebacker

Dennis Gardeck, 50; Tanner Vallejo, 32; Zeke Turner, 30; Jordan Hicks, 13; Dante Booker, 6; Hayes Pullard, 5
Gardeck played more than anyone on the Cardinals. He got extensive work.
Cornerback

Deatrick Nichols, 46; Chris Jones, 40; Nate Brooks, 39; Tramaine Brock, 13; Patrick Peterson, 13; Byron Murphy, 6
Murphy only played in the slot and only with the first team. That’s why his snaps were so low. Jones, Nichols and Brooks are battling for roster spots, though Jones seems to be in the lead.
Safety

Deionte Thompson, 31; Rudy Ford, 28; Jalen Thompson, 27; Tyler Sigler, 24; Jonathan Owens, 18; Budda Baker, 13; D.J. Swearinger, 13
Josh Shaw is still out with an injury.
