Cardinals cut 9 players, add 2 more undrafted rookies

The Arizona Cardinals opened rookie minicamp on Friday but, before doing so, made some changes to the roster. They added a pair of undrafted rookies and cut several players.

They cut ties with nine players, something they were going to have to do with their draft picks signing contracts.

Here are those players:

  • OL Justin Evans
  • OL Zack Golditch
  • OL Will House
  • WR Bryant Mitchell
  • CB Jonathan Moxey
  • DT Pasoni Tasini
  • WR Jalen Tolliver
  • OL Brant Weiss
  • RB Brandon Wilds

The two rookies they signed to contracts were running back Wes Hill, out of Slipper Rock Univerity, and cornerback Nate Brooks out of North Texas.

Hill began his college career at Delaware before transferring to Slippery Rock. He was a Division II All-American last season, rushing for 1,714 yards and 17 touchdowns, averaging 6.9 yards per attempt. He was a two-time captain at Delaware before transferring.

Brooks was a semifinalist for the Thorpe Award, given to the nation’s top defensive back. He was third in the FBS with six interceptions. He also had 67 tackles and 10 pass breakups. He was a three-year starter for North Texas was an all-Conference USA selection each of the last two seasons.
