Cardinals could face rookie QB Davis Mills in Week 7 vs. Texans

The Arizona Cardinals will face the Houston Texans at home in Week 7. Already a team the Cardinals are expected to beat, the Texans could be without starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor.

After suffering a hamstring injury in Week 2, the Texans placed Taylor on injured reserve. He must miss a minimum of three weeks.

His injury is expected to take three to four weeks to recover. The earliest he could return is in Week 6.

If Taylor is unable to be back by Week 7, the Cardinals would face rookie quarterback Davis Mills when the Texans come to town. Mills, a rookie drafted in the third round this year, replaced Taylor in Week 2 after Taylor got hurt against the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns won that game 31-21. Mills completed 8-of-18 passes for 102 yards. He had a touchdown pass and an interception and was sacked once in 35 offensive snaps.

The Texans are 1-1 on the season currently. The Cardinals are 2-0 and will face rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence in Week 3 as they travel to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. Mills might be the second rookie starting quarterback they face this season.
