Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson absent from voluntary minicamp

Something appears to be happening between the Arizona Cardinals and cornerback Patrick Peterson. Some cryptic Instagram posts suggest he is unhappy and local radio host John Gambadoro for Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reported he would not be with the team when voluntary veteran minicamp began Tuesday, saying Peterson is upset with the organization.

When the players took the field Tuesday morning, Peterson was, in fact, not among them, as reported by multiple reporters for the Arizona Republic.

It is unknown what led to his absence, especially as he was a participant in the offseason program when it began two weeks ago. Some have suggested he is being shopped, although some report that is not the case.

Peterson requested a trade last season, but later backed from that request. He even apologized to the fans in the offseason, telling them he is here to stay.

More details are sure to follow. Whatever the reason is, he was not on the field with his teammates Tuesday morning.
