Cardinals bring in Oregon WR Dillon Mitchell for official visit

There was all sorts of fanfare surrounding the official visit of quarterback prospect Kyler Murray with the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday. However, he wasn’t the only draft prospect to have an official visit with the Cardinals.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Cardinals also hosted Oregon receiver Dillon Mitchell.

Mitchell is 6-1, 197 pounds and ran a 4.46-second 40 at the combine. He has a 36.5-inch vertical leap and a 10-2 broad jump.

He was highly productive last season with 75 catches for more than 1,100 yards and 10 touchdowns.

He is not a top prospect and will likely get Day 3 attention, but Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury believes the receiver class is deep and that there will be very good players selected late in the draft.

The knock on Mitchell is his effort. He is talented but will need to give much more to the game to be anything in the NFL.

The Cardinals often not only bring in first-round talents for official visits. They often use their official visits on guys they believe will be undrafted free agents to help lure them to Arizona. Mitchell could be someone like that.
