Cardinals begin OTAs, have only 13 practices remaining in offseason

The Arizona Cardinals begin Phase 3 of the offseason today with the beginning of organized team activities, known around the league as OTAs. With the beginning of OTAs, which are still voluntary, it begins the final countdown to the end of the offseason.

The Cardinals have 10 practices of OTAs and will have three practices as part of mandatory minicamp.

Here is the remaining schedule for spring work:

  • OTAs, Week 1: May 20-22 (three practices)
  • OTAs, Week 2: May 29-31 (three practices)
  • OTAs, Week 3: Junes 3-6 (four practices)
  • Mandatory minicamp: June 11-13 (three practices)

After that, the veterans do not return until the report for training camp. Based on the Cardinals’ first preseason game on August 8, they can report for camp on July 24. Rookies will continue to have an offseason program with workouts and classroom time but no practices for a few weeks after minicamp is done.

Before you know it, the season will be here and football will be back!
