Cardinals are slight favorites over Cowboys in preseason opener

The Dallas Cowboys already played in one preseason game, as they were part of the Hall of Fame Game. However, the Arizona Cardinals will make their preseason debut this week, hosting the Cowboys Friday night at State Farm Stadium.

They open the week as slight favorites, according to Tipico Sportsbook.

The Cardinals are slight favorites on the money line at -125 (bet $125 to win $100) while the Cowboys are even money at +100 (bet $100 to win $100).

Based on those odds, the Cardinals have an implied 55.56% of winning, while the Cowboys have implied 50% odds of winning.

The Cardinals also are favored against the spread at -1.5 (-110), where betting $110 can win you $100. The Cowboys are 1.5-point underdogs (-110).

To beat the spread, Arizona will have to beat the Cowboys by at least two points on Friday. The Cowboys beat the spread by winning the game outright or losing by only one point.

The total is set at 39.5 points, -110 on both the Over and the Under.

If this were the regular season, that total would be much higher, perhaps in the 50s. Both the Cardinals and the Cowboys are expected to have explosive offenses.

Kickoff is Friday at 10 p.m. ET at State Farm Stadium.
