Cardinals are best in the league at taking care of the ball

The Arizona Cardinals are only 3-3-1 but have made drastic improvements in many phases. One area where they have excelled this season is in avoiding turnovers.

They have the fewest turnovers in the league. Through seven games, they have only turned the ball over four times.

The New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans are next with five, while the Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts each have six turnovers on the season.

Quarterback Kyler Murray has been picked off four times, accounting for all the team’s turnovers. However, they have played three consecutive games without turning the ball over, all of which have been victories.

Murray currently has a streak of 115 consecutive passes without throwing an interception, which is impressive considering he is a rookie. It is more impressive considering he only started one year in college.

After watching New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold throw four interceptions Monday night, seeing a rookie only throw four in seven games is crazy.

The Cardinals are also the only team in the league not to lose a fumble this season. Murray has not fumbled in 49 rushing attempts.

One can look at the offensive improvements the Cardinals have made this season. One can point to their defensive success against the Giants in Week 7 as reasons for the team’s turnaround.

Probably the No. 1 factor in the Cardinals being 3-3-1 with a young team with clear flaws is the fact they just have not turned the ball over much. If this trend can continue, they will be much more competitive than anyone believed they would be.
