Cardinals announce release of LB Ramik Wilson

The Arizona Cardinals reportedly are signing running back Alfred Morris, as David Johnson is recovering from an ankle injury that limited him to three snaps and one carry on Sunday. That means opening a roster spot on the 53-man roster.

On Tuesday, the Cardinals announced a roster move, opening up a spot.

They released linebacker Ramik Wilson.

Wilson signed with the Cardinals two weeks ago and appeared in one game, playing on special teams.

He was signed when linebacker Dennis Gardeck was out with an ankle injury. Gardeck returned Sunday, making Wilson’s spot on the roster unnecessary.

Assuming there is no other move made by Wednesday, the release of Wilson is likely the move needed to make room for Morris.
