Cardinals almost creep into top 20 of new USA TODAY power rankings

The Arizona Cardinals lost for the second straight week, but they continue to increase in reputation. For the second week in a row, after losing a game to a quality opponent, they have moved up in power rankings.

This week, in USA TODAY’s Week 10 power rankings, they moved up four spots to No. 21.

Since September’s end, they’ve scored 25-plus points in four of five games. “Air Raid” attack evidently taking off, and new RB Kenyan Drake helping.

They lost a close game to the undefeated San Francisco 49ers. Now they get David Johnson back and will play a Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that is one of the worst defensive teams in the league.

The offense appears to be on track. The defense is another story.

However, Kliff Kingsbury was charged with fixing the offense. Mission accomplished. They have a franchise quarterback in Kyler Murray who has not turned the ball over in a month and they have two versatile backs in Johnson and Kenyan Drake who should drive the offense in the final seven games.

Six or seven wins should be achievable.
